Meet PAULINE

Have some sketches of Pauline. I love my girl!

Pauline was originally from a set of anthropomorphized zodiac symbols, representing aquarius - despite it being THE water sign, I wanted to focus on the air-y aspects of it. Freedom, ideas, and impetuousness were her defining characteristics, and those shine through to this day. Her name hasn't changed either - Pauline came to me from "poultry," emphasizing both her ability to fly and proclivity for running around like her head's been cut off. And of course I'm aware chickens are quite violent when no one's looking.

Originally she did have wings! Curious to see how the design has evolved. 

The aforementioned anthropomorphized zodiac signs were intended for another project in which the main character was a goat named Gida, represensing capricorn. I had concepts for each of the 12 signs, but I tend to let unused character designs bounce around in my head a little, so rest assured they're far from out of commission :^)

Her clothing was meant to evoke godlike RPG characters of old. A massive chunk of that is inspired by my love for the designs from aughts-era MMORPGs like Maplestory and Wonderland Online.
